Chipping is one of my favorite shots. I think of a chip as an extra long putt. My favorite club of choice is an 8 iron. A chip is a shot that spends 20% of its time in the air and 80% on the green running to the hole. The ball position should be off your back foot this position would keep the ball low to the ground. Your weight should favor the front side or lean towards the hole. Finally rock your arms like a pendulum on a grandfather clock. The ball should jump out of the fringe and land on the green rolling towards the hole.
